Nikana Damage Build

About:

Nikana is a tenno designed weapon that resembles a lot like the famous Japanese Katana Sword. This weapon can have 3 different type of builds. This build focuses on straight damage. There is a critical build as well as a channeling build that are just as effective.

Make note that the mods in this build and others for this weapon are obtainable either via trade or harcore farming methods. These builds also work for the Dragon Nikana and the Nikana prime.

Nikana prime is your best choice to get due to it's polarities but may require 1 forma or more to get the best build. You can also get the other versions just for the mastery rank but i highly recommend using the Nikana Prime due to the higher stats it yields.

Note: To get the Nikana you have to be mastery rank 4 to buy it or build it. to get the blueprint for the Nikana you have to be in a clan to get it. To get the Dragon Nikana you can get the Blueprint in the tenno market (in the orbiter) but it requires the regular Nikana to craft for it is the better version. The Nikana Prime can be found from relics via Axi N2, A1. Neo N4. Meso V2 all being under the rare drop.

Pressure point (primed if you have one)

Fury

Spoiled Strike

Berserker

Buzz kill

Jagged edge

Dual Status Mods:

Volcanic edge (Optional)

Voltaic Strike (Optional)

Virulent Scourge (optional)

Vicious Frost (optional)

Mods:

Pressure Point (primed if obtained): This will help increase your overall melee damage as well as any damage your elemental combo has (radiation, Corrosive, etc.) you can just use the regular Pressure point, but i recommend using it's Primed form and maxing it out. To get Primed Pressure Point, you have to wait until Baro Ki'teer arrives at any marked Tenno relay and he MIGHT sell it.

Fury: Will help you swing this blade much faster which is essential for this weapon. NOTE: You might have to change the polarity slot that mine is in as shown in the screenshot below (defaultly it's the Vazarin D polarity.)

Spoiled Strike: this may lower your attack speed by 50% but combined with fury and berserker the attack speed won't matter since you'll be dealing 100% more damage with this mod.

Berserker: This helps with giving an extra attack speed boost every Crit Proc. Which every crit you get this perk may activate. (Not 100% sure but you may have to wait until the Berserk buff to run out and it will proc within the next crit)

Buzz kill: Pretty self explanatory in the mod itself. This adds 120% more Slash damage when maxed. (To get this you must buy it from Baro Ki'teer or trade for it since this was once an event mod)

Jagged Edge: Also pretty self explanatory within the mod, this adds 90% more Slash damage when maxed. (You can just find this as a drop from Corpus Elite Crewman or by trading) this helps give the damage a little extra muscle to them bastardous infested, corpus, and grineer.

Dual stat mods: ok you may be confused by this but hear me out. Dual status mods are mods that add BOTH elemental damage with an added status chance (example: Volcanic Strike having 60% heat AND 60% Status chance) As listed above in the "Mods" section you will see the different dual status mods for melee weapons. you may choose whichever elemental Combo you want ranging from Magnetic, Blast, Radiation, Viral, Corrosive, Gas. NOTE: these combinations work for a specific enemy type. Check the "Factions" section of this site to see each Faction weakness.

Personal Note: i use radiation as my main Combo element since there are fewer enemy types with this elemental resistance. But as mentioned in the pinned message uptop, Mod to YOUR playstyle. this means if you find my build suits you but the elemental combo doesn't, then that's ok because YOU should use the elemental combo you feel comfortable with.
